Village West

Coconut Grove is comprised of two Neighborhood Conservation Districts. One of them (NCD-2) covers Village West. The future of this historic community is a matter of great concern to all who want to maintain the Grove's rich cultural diversity and make affordable housing available to those who need it.

CITY COMMISSION VOTES TO EXPAND OMNI CRA TO VILLAGE WEST

At its meeting of Jan. 11, 2018, the Miami City Commission approved by a 5-0 vote the expansion of the Omni Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) to Coconut Grove Village West. Numerous representatives of Village West turned out to speak in support, including a Coconut Grove Village Council member who presented a unanimous resolution favoring the expansion adopted by the Village Council. PRESERVING THE HISTORIC BUILDINGS OF VILLAGE WEST

The City of Miami Planning Department's Historic Preservation Division is considering a process for designating wood-framed homes in Village West for a special historic status that will help their owners maintain and upgrade them. Learn more here.
